भूजल पुनर्भरण प्राकृतिक भूजल आपूर्ति की वृद्धि का तरीका है जो मानव निर्मित तरीकों जैसे घाटियों, खाइयों, बांधों, या इंजेक्शन कुओं के भूजल क्षमता में वृद्धि करता है. एक्वीफर भंडारण और प्राप्ति (एएसआर) भूजल पुनर्भरण की एक विशिष्ट शैली है जिसके जरिये भूजल पुनर्भरण के साथ-साथ भविष्य के उपयोगों के लिए जल संरक्षण भी किया जाता है.
जलवायु परिवर्तन की निगाह से
- मौसमी शुष्क अवधि से उबरने और बाढ़ को कम करने के लिए अधिक भंडारण क्षमता की जरूरत है.
- अधिक बारिश की वजह से रिसन क्षमता घट सकती है. भंडारण का निर्माण करें, रिसन बढ़ायें या कृत्रिम पुनर्भरण करें.
- बारिश कम होने से पानी को दूसरी जगह से लाने और उसका भंडारण करने का काम बढ़ जाता है.
- वनस्पति में परिवर्तन की वजह से वाष्पण-उत्सर्जन, सतह अपरदन, कटाव और तलछट जमा होने और हट जाने की स्थिति पैदा हो जाती है. इसके लिए पानी और मिट्टी संरक्षण के उपायों की अपनाने की आवश्यकता होती है, जैसे खेतों को सीढ़ीनुमा बनाना.
