The '''Household Food Insecurity Access Scale''' (HFIAS) is a brief survey instrument to assess whether households have experienced problems with accessing food during the last 30 days. It has been developed by the USAID funded FANTA project<ref>USAID, Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance Project (FANTA). <u>Household Food Insecurity Access Scale (HFIAS) for Measurement of Food Access: Indicator Guide, version 3, 2007</u></ref>. It is based on the following set of generic occurrence questions, grouped by domain:
