The India Water Portal is an open, inclusive, web-based platform for sharing water management knowledge amongst practitioners and the general public. It aims to draw on the rich experience of water-sector experts, package their knowledge and add value to it through technology and then disseminate it to a larger audience through the internet.

The Portal seeks to share best practices, to advocate sustainable approaches, to bring transparency of public data and information, and to spread awareness. The ultimate objective of the Portal is to address equity and sustainability issues in the Water Sector and actively pursue alternate outreach methods like print media, radio and workshops, to ensure that this knowledge reaches those on the ground who need it most.
