Here you will find smart and affordable technologies and approaches in rural or urban settings. Project teams can learn more about financing, constructing, and maintaining a project in order to keep it functioning and stable for the long term. Some pages are translated in up to 9 languages (upper right of each page may have language flags), as we are increasing new translations continually.
Akvopedia now contains 2,211 articles primarily in English. Akvopedia is hosted and managed by Akvo Foundation.

The Financing Sanitation Paper Series is now online!
A culmination of several years in the making, The Financing Sanitation Paper Series is a unique collection of six articles about different aspects of sustainable financing of sanitation (in emerging markets) - from financial inclusion to private funding and from micro insurance to climate financing. There are still two papers yet to be published, but we now have the first four papers available for download.

- New section: Sustainable Oil Palm Farming. Sustainable intensification in smallholder oil palm plantations focuses on achieving good yields and profits, while maintaining soil fertility, minimising erosion, maintaining water quality, controlling pests, diseases and weeds through integrated pest management and using agrochemicals safely and in the smallest possible amounts.

- New section: Hindi Rainwater Harvesting. We now have our entire rainwater harvesting section translated into Hindi! This comprises 43 pages of water and sanitation solutions that include capturing rainwater whether from the air, surface or groundwater. We are going to continue to create Hindi translations for our top 100 pages, so check back soon for more Hindi pages.

- New portal: In cooperation with India Water Portal, we now have 165 new pages all about news from India! The articles cover popular topics of water and sanitation (WASH) plus many more, including food security, climate change, and emergency WASH. This is the beginning of our new News section that will soon include Africa, Latin America and more of Asia.
