More information — AquaFund is a fast-disbursing fund created to finance a variety of interventions that support the implementation of IDB’s Water and Sanitation Initiative and contribute to the achievement of the water-related Millennium Development Goals in IDB borrowing member countries.

Criteria — To access AquaFund resources a proposal must: 1) be consistent with the objectives of the IDB’s Water and Sanitation Initiative; 2) be consistent with the strategic plans for the sector in the country in which it is going to be implemented, 3) a non-objection letter from the beneficiary government; 4) have high development impact in the sector; 5) be institutionally and environmentally sustainable; 6) be in coordination with other IDB or other external donors funds and initiatives.
