We classify different organisations in Akvopedia according to an organisation type. The different types are:

NGO

Non-governmental organisation. An NGO is a legally constituted organization created by private persons or organizations with no participation or representation of any government. In the cases in which NGOs are funded totally or partially by governments, the NGO maintains its non-governmental status insofar as it excludes government representatives from membership in the organization. For more detail see Wikipedia's NGO entry.

Commercial

Generally, a commercial organisation is a form of business organization. The precise definition varies. For more detail see Wikipedia's Company entry.

Governmental

Governmental organisations who are deciding or administrative entities. For more information see Wikipedia's Executive government entry.

Knowledge institute

Knowledge institutes works with education, training and research in different forms. They may be higher education, such as a university or they may be a governmental research institute.
