En África del Sur, US$320 por un sistema con 11 metros de canaleta de hierro galvanizado; un tanque de 1,3 m3 de hierro galvanizado; bajantes; grifos y filtros; el costo no incluye el transporte. En aquellos lugares donde los techos no son adecuados para la captación de agua; el costo de mejoras al techo y las canaletas tendrá que adicionarse al costo del tanque.
