ट्यूब पुनर्भरण एक कम लागत की तकनीक है, इसमें जल निकासी ट्यूब के साथ मानव निर्मित भरे हुए छिद्र होते हैं जो टॉपस्वाइल परत से होकर गुजरते हैं. बारिश का पानी जो सामान्य रूप से उड़ जाता है या नदियों में बह जाता है, अब धरती में समा सकता है और जलवाही स्तर तक पहुंच जाता है.
ट्यूब रिचार्ज सिस्टम 20-30 मिमी की व्यास वाली एक प्लास्टिक की नली या पीवीसी ट्यूब होते हैं. ये ट्यूबों एक छेद किये गये गड्ढे में डाले जाते हैं, जो एक कुएं के अपस्ट्रीम में होता है, ऐसी जगह पर जहां से पानी स्वाभाविक रूप से या एक कृत्रिम निर्माण तालाब में एकत्र किया जा सके.
बारिश के बाद जब तालाब भर जाता है, तो जल निकासी ट्यूब खोलने से पहले कुछ घंटों के लिए उसे छोड़ देना चाहिये. पानी के ट्यूब में प्रवेश करने से पहले कि इसे फिल्टर ट्यूब से स्वच्छ किया जाता है. ट्यूब की लंबाई 5 से 10 मीटर होती है और यह कॉम्पैक्ट मिट्टी की ऊपरी परत के आकार पर निर्भर करता है. वे जलभृत में अपने आप नहीं जाते हैं.
Suitable conditions
The local geological situation dictates specific requirements, costs and time: if there are no stones or boulders, a 10 m hole can be made in one day or less with a drill such as a step auger or Hand auger - general.
Construction, operations and maintenance
- Prior to placing the recharge tubes, testing is needed to determine the best sizes of tube, depth, maximum capacity of recharge, etc.
- Maintenance consists of unclogging the drainage tube by swabbing: moving a stick with a cloth up and down the drainage hole.
- Before recharge systems are applied on a larger scale, their effectiveness in a given context should be further investigated by means of smaller pilot systems.
Costs
- Total costs per system (drilling, tubes, labour): US$ 5 - 30.
- Step auger or Baptist drill set for holes up to 12 m (can be used for many holes): US$ 75.
If the holes are drilled by families themselves, the costs can be minimised.
