Brebes

Brebes regency covers an area of 1,902.37 km2 with a population of 1,733,869 inhabitants (2010). Due to its location in the coastal area, Brebes faces several problems such as erosion, flood, sea-level rise, sedimentation, waste and water pollution.

Referring to the Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Daerah or Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) 2018-2023, the Central Java provincial government plans to develop Brebeas as an industrial estate. Based on its existing condition and future masterplan, Brebes is suitable as an observed area in ICZM pilot project.
