Aim — The Overall Objective: ‘Improved health of rural communities through provision of increased access to safe water supply and sanitation facilities.’ This contribution will be realised through achieving the Programme Objective which is; ‘Sustainable enhanced access to safe water, improved sanitation use and hygiene behaviour for participating rural communities.’

Specific type of projects — community demand driven, integrated rural water supply and sanitation projects incorporating health/hygiene education, HIV/AIDS and gender awareness.

Criteria — The planned duration of an action will depend on the size of the grant awarded: grants awards of over EUR100,000: duration may not exceed 31st August 2011. grants awards under EUR100,000: duration may not exceed 12 months from the date of signing of the contract
