Aim — Partners voor Water stimulates innovative water projects with cooperative foreign partners by subsidising their projects. The aim of the project is to increase compatability of Dutch expertise to the international market and to help solve the world water problems.

More information — The programme PvW II is likely to be continued as PvWIII. A definit decision about continuation of the PvW programme will be made in november 2008.

Specific type of projects — 1.Water, Food and Nutre, 2. Water and Climate, 3. Millennium Development Goals on water and sanitation, 4. Integrated Water Resources Management, 5. Groundwater

Project stadia — 1. Identification missions and marketstudies. 2.Profitability studies, 3. Business development, 4. Demonstration and pilot projects. 5. Institutional capacity building

Target world region


Specific information on target countries — PvW has identified 43 focus countries which are listed on their website.

Criteria — Projects need to be demand driven. At least two Dutch partners from the watersector need to participate in the project. The project can not be eligible for other Dutch or internationa financing. The projectproposal needs to follow the budgetrestrictions as stated in the tenderinstruction.

How to apply


Application procedure — there are 6 tenderrounds per year of 4 to 6 weeks in which projects can be submitted. It is advised to submit a project ideaform to one the project advisers before submitting a tender.

Selection procedure — The EVD judges the proposals by looking at the kwalitative criteria which are stated on the PvW website.
