'''The Water Use Master Plan द वाटर यूज मास्टर प्लान (डब्ल्यूयूएमपी WUMP)''' is a tool that puts the local community at the centre of decisions and that looks at water resourcesएक ऐसी योजना है जो स्थानीय समुदाय को निर्णय प्रक्रिया के केंद्र में रखती है और वह जल संसाधनों, water demands and potential uses in a broad and integrating way, including a prioritized list of water-related infrastructure plansपानी की मांग और उसके व्यापक और एकीकृत इस्तेमाल की संभावना पर विचार करता है. इतना ही नहीं वह जल संबंधी बुनियादी ढांचा योजनाओं की प्राथमिकता सूची भी तैयार करता है. यह उपाय सफल साबित हुआ है और इसे नेपाल में कई संस्थानों द्वारा अपनाया जा रहा है. इसने सरकार का ध्यान भी अपनी ओर खींचा है. Although the experiences so far have been very positive, some challenges have been identified: WUMP should address water productivity in agriculture more prominently and should pay more attention to climate change effects. Through its collaboration with [http://www.rainfoundation.org/ RAIN], Helvetas SI Nepal is putting rainwater harvesting more to the forefront, and incorporating a catchment perspective with a [http://www.bebuffered.com/ 3R approach] into the current WUMP module.
