Aim — Under the Trusts' institutional grants, their programme grants comprise five broad areas of grant-making, which are encapsulated thus:

More information — The Individual Grants Programme of the Trusts aims at extending financial assistance to resident Indians in difficult circumstances. The programme, while being sensitive to individual needs, aims at maintaining a professional approach towards philanthropy, and works in accordance with streamlined procedures, to ensure that deserving individuals are benefited, and that the grants are smoothly disbursed.

Criteria — While there are many grants, Endowment Grants to institutions are given based on the following criteria:

  • have activities that are closely integrated with the thematic areas of the Trusts, along with a satisfactory and mutually rewarding programme partnership;
  • have an impact on society or are strategic in a sector of the field;
  • have demonstrated staying power;
  • have an established tradition of collective leadership;
  • have a proven track record of being mission driven.

In order to qualify for a Small Grant under this programme, an organisation:

  • must have been in existence for at least one financial year;
  • should be working in a thematic area supported by the Trusts;
  • should be situated in either an urban or rural area, though preference will be given to organisations in rural areas;
  • should have an expenditure not exceeding Rs2 million in the last financial year;
  • should not be employing more than 20 individuals.

Application procedure — Applications for individual grants should be sent through post only. Applications sent through email will not be considered.
