La filtration de systèmes de traitement de l’eau centralisé profite à de nombreux ménages ou à un village entier. Bien que la tendance soit à la décentralisation, l’emploi de systèmes centralisés n’est pas relégué au second plan pour autant. Les ONG et les gouvernements œuvrent pour offrir des solutions d’approvisionnement en eau douce aux communautés.
