Product: Naiade

The Naiade is a stand alone water purification unit. The unit is powered by a solar panel, which is integrated in the unit. The capacity of the unit is up to 3,500 liters per day.

Principle of operation

The purification of the Naiade are:

1. a sieve to remove larger parts such as leaves, stones etc.
2. a 25 micron filter bag
3. a 10 micron filter bag
4. a UV light

The unit has been developed based on the requirements and restrictions of grass root societies. It does not contain any moving parts, the unit can be installed, operated and maintained with a minimum of technical skills. Furthermore, due to the fact that it is powered by a solar panel there is no need for fossil fuels. It environmental impact is only positive.

Capacity

The capacity of the unit is up to 3,500 liters per day.

Cost

The price of the unit is € 2.750 ex works in case that Nedap only supplies the unit. If Nedap has to do the installation, instruction and maintenance at the spot the price of the unit will be € 3.500 ex works. The pricing of larger quantities can be discussed.

Sustainability / maintenance

Both filter bags can be removed from the unit for cleaning purposes. After careful flushing these bags can be replaced. The life span of the UV lamp is 10,000 operating hours, nearly 3 years. The UV lamp can be replaced within half an hour by the users themselves.

• Due to its design everybody can operate the unit. It has just one button! Even children can use the unit without help.
• A Naiade can be installed everywhere due to its independence to fossil fuel. Its installation time takes less than 1 hour. Immediate after that it is ready for use.
• The size of the unit makes it easy to transport in small or small planes.
• The absence of consumables makes it easy to install it in places with no or low quality logistics.
• The water treatment does not require chemicals. Still, the treated water fulfills the World Health Organization standards.
• All not-chemically polluted sweet water can be treated.
