रिचार्ज भूजल स्तर को स्थिर करने का काम करेगा और आशा है कि जलधाराओं की मदद से भूजल धीरे धीरे बरकरार हो जाएगा. इस कार्यक्रम का एक हिस्सा उन लोगों की क्षतिपूर्ति करने से भी संबंधित है जिनको नम इलाके में खेती का काम छोडऩा पड़ा. पानी का इस्तेमाल पीने के लिए भी किया जाना है और शकरकंद उत्पादन तथा सिंचाई के काम में.
====Spring revivalधारे-चश्मे का पुनर्जीवन====
This pilot consists of several technologies to restore the water level to guarantee revival of dried springs and wellsइस प्रयोग में कई तकनीकों का प्रयोग किया जाता है ताकि सूखे धारे-चश्मे और कुओं आदि में पानी की स्थिति सुधारी जा सके. Four different methods are tested, all adapted to the different context of the spring or wellइसमेंं कुओं और धारे-चश्मों के अलग-अलग संदर्भ में चार अलग-अलग तरीकों का परीक्षण किया गया. किसी घाटी में जब बारिश का मौसम आता है तो पानी एक छोटी जलधारा में बहता है. इस जलधारा के ऊपरी हिस्से में पानी के बहाव को अवरुद्ध करने के लिए अवरोध स्थापित किए जाते हैं और उसमें सुराख की व्यवस्था की जाती है.
A dried spring is in a valley where, during the rains, water flows in a small stream# किसी अन्य सूखी जलधारा मेंं जहां कि घाटी इतनी स्पष्ट नहीं हो वहां माटी की मोटी परत में से दो गढ़े किए जाते हैं ताकि मिट्टी के नीचे वाली परत तक पहुंचा जा सके. Uphill of this spring a cascade of permeable blockages will be constructed with gabions to block the flow of the runoff and allow it to infiltrateढलान पर बहते पानी को इन गढ़ों की ओर मोड़ा जाता है ताकि भूजल को रिचार्ज किया जा सके. # Uphill from another dried spring where there is not such a clear valley, two infiltration pits are dug through a thick layer of clay soil to reach the subsoil. Runoff from the slope is guided into these pits to recharge the groundwaterऊपरी इलाके में एक सूखे उथले बोरहोल में हमने टैरसिंग को गडढों और तालाब से जोड़ा ताकि पानी को एकत्रित करकेे बोरहोल के आसपास भूजल स्तर को सुधारा जा सके. # Uphill from a dried shallow borehole we combine terracing (FanyaJuu), road runoff infiltration pits, and ponds to restore the water level around the boreholeअंतत: एक उथले कुंए का निर्माण किया जाएगा और चारागाह वाले क्षेत्र में कुंए से उसे रिचार्ज करने के उपाय अपनाए जाएंगे. # Finally, a shallow well will be constructed and combined with recharge measures close to the well in a grazing areaचूंकि यह जमीन चारागाह की है इसलिए सामान्य टैरेस की जगह दो सपाट सतह और हल्की ढलान वाले छोटे टीले बनाए जाएंगे. Since this is pasture land, two small earth bunds with a flatter surface and gentle slopes will replace the the usual terracesइससे पशुओं को चरने का अवसर लगातार मिलेगा लेकिन इसके बावजूद सतह के पानी को जल धारा के करीब ले जाने में मदद मिलेगी. This will allow grazing of animals to continue, but still provide infiltration of surface runoff close to the spring जल धारा को एक उथले कुंए में बदला जा सकेगा जिसके नाना इस्तेमाल हो सकते हैं. The spring will be turned into a shallow well for multiple use, such as for cattleमिसाल के तौर पर यह पालतु पशुओं के लिए भी उपयोगी होगा.
