由引擎发动的旋喷是一种[[Jetting - general|喷射技术]]，它使用引擎旋转钻柱并将泥浆抽出。现使用多种规格的由引擎发动的旋转钻井设备。在发展中国家使用的商业钻井设备为Lone Star 100、PAT Drill 201和 Deep Rock Hydra；还有很多其他类型。
虽然人们预计使用引擎比使用人工的优势更大，但就旋喷而言，其实两者用时相同，钻取的深度也相同。由引擎发动的技术只是在人类工程学方面的表现更胜一筹。
